- Inernet上的DNS域名采用符合规范的、有一定意义的字母和数字的组合来代表网络上任何一台计算机的身份。传统的 IP 地址的数字式的方法不便于记忆和理解，但基于TCP/IP 协议构建的 Internet/Intranet 网络是通过 IP 地址来区分和发送数据的，因此 DNS 服务器的作用就是完成对域名到 IP 地址的解析工作，有的 DNS 服务器可以双向解析。
